  • In this combination culinary and pastry arts camp, we will do something productive, yet fun, with your summer break ... learn about food and learn about the exciting Louisville food scene!

Campers will learn and practice  all the fundamental techniques that make us better all around chefs, after spending their mornings learning from the best!

This camp is perfect for budding foodies, cooking enthusiasts, or just anyone who loves to be in the kitchen and wants to know what goes on behind the scenes at Louisville's most famous destinations!

Each day during this camp we will visit a local restaurant, chef or pastry shop/boutique that has been a part of what makes Louisville such a great food city. We will spend times behind the scenes with staff and chefs at each location and in some cases, get to be hands on right then and there.

In any case, each day we will return to our kitchen at Turnip the Beet and recreate the dishes or products we learned about earlier in the day.

In the past dishes we have worked with have included Kentucky and Louisville staples such as: Hot Brown, Green Chili Wontons, BBQ, Bacon Maple Donut, hot chicken, chocolate truffles, snocones, and much more!

All Camps are Monday-Friday from 9 am to 4 pm.

What To Expect: Great cooking is about more than recipes—it's about techniques. In our classes your kids will work together with other students in a fun, hands-on environment led by our professional chef instructors.
